Competition Requirements
Phase 1 – Regional
To participate, students must write a scientific paper based on an agricultural topic area, such as veterinary science, animal feed technology, agricultural developments or agriculture management. Undergraduate student papers cannot exceed 3500 words in length and graduate student papers cannot exceed 5000 words in length. Papers in languages other than English will be accepted. Each submission must be accompanied by a 250 word abstract based on the paper. The papers submitted cannot be previously published in any research journal. After the competition, students are encouraged to submit their research for publication in the journal of their choice.
Template
Students must use the template found on our website and paste their research papers and contact information into this template and then upload the paper on the template to the website.
Phase 2 - Global
The winning student from each region will compete within their continent for a chance to attend the global competition held at Alltech’s headquarters in Kentucky, USA. Out of 10 regional winners, 3 will be selected to advance.
Papers
In this phase all papers must be in English. We will help the students to have their work translated into English if necessary.
Presentations
Presentations should be based on the original paper submitted to the competition. Students present in English or with the help of a translator provided by Alltech. Sound experimental design and interpretation are essential. Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® is required. Some coaching assistance will be provided to the students in how to prepare their Powerpoint presentations.
