Submission Requirements

Phase 1 – Regional Level - Papers

To participate, students must write a scientific paper based on a topic involving Alltech's animal feed technologies. Undergraduate students' papers must be 3000-3500 words in length and graduate students' papers must be 3000-5000 words in length. The program will include two phases, and the winners from the regional phase will move on to the final international phase. In the first phase, papers in languages other than English will be accepted. In the second phase, we will help the students to have their work translated into English if necessary. Each submission must be accompanied by a 250 word abstract based on the paper. The papers submitted cannot be previously published in any research journal.

Phase 2 – Global Level

Posters

Principles of simplicity and clarity apply to both poster and slide presentations.

The story should proceed logically, with headings indicating sections: Introduction, Objective(s), Materials and Methods, Results, Summary, and Conclusions.

Use of photos and/or flow charts are encouraged. Graphs should have titles, the axes should be named, and units should be quantified.

Tables should also be titled.

Posters should include a small, professional picture of the author near the title.

Presentations

Presentations should be based on the original paper submitted to the competition. All students are required to produce and present their posters and presentations in English. Sound experimental design and interpretation are essential. Microsoft® Office PowerPoint® is required.
